Early on
During WW2 an airfield was constructed next to Hamilton farm. The USAAF Ninth air force required several temporary advanced landing ground (ALG) along the channel coast prior to June 1994 Normandy invasion to provide tactical air support for the ground forces landing in France. Kingsnorth was selected in July 1942 and given the final go ahead for construction in December with a completion date of March 1st 1943.
Current
Hamilton farm caters for microlights & light aircraft owners. Being only 4 miles S.E. of Ashford Kent most of the owners are local, ‘Fly ins’ are free and the ‘Tea Rooms’ are exceptional, well worth the trip either driving or flying in.
